Claire Henchcliffe, M.D., D.Phil. has served as Professor and Stanley van den Noort Chair of Neurology, University of California, Irvine since 2020. Her early training in research at the University of Oxford (MA, DPhil), the University of Cambridge (MRC Fellowship), and the University of California, Berkeley (Lucille P. Markey Scholar) was followed by medical training with her MD, neurology residency and movement disorder fellowship at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University in New York City. During almost two decades at Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC)/New York Presbyterian Hospital, New York City, she rose to Professor of Neurology and Neuroscience, and Vice Chair for Clinical Research. It was here she developed her focus on stem cell-based therapies, working with global leaders in stem cell science and transplant therapy. Upon taking on the role of Chair of Neurology at UC Irvine, she has been committed to bringing the most advanced medical research to clinical testing in Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions.
